When waves of a sea of stars, wash over us

When cherry blossoms finally start to bloom,

Sweater weather came in September,
And I covered up more than just my skin to keep warm,
& Do you even remember?
That we buried our emotions in a casket of dead leaves,
And we held a procession for our hearts no longer on our sleeves

Leaves fell less like feathers,
And more like anchors,
Turned into lumps in our throats,
Sinking hopelessly down to the ocean floor
& the words still linger like leaves clinging to summer

With one gust of wind, it scattered me and all my friends

Just because the skies look bleak now,

As the cold front set-in,
So did an overwhelming sense of depression,
